Swami Shantivratananda
Revered Swami Shantivratananda is presently the Minister-in-Charge, Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre, Dublin, Republic of Ireland, after having served at Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Moral & Spiritual Education (RIMSE), Mysuru, India for 8.5 years.
Inspired by the life and teachings of the Holy trio, Swamiji started treading his austere journey and underwent various rigorous and intense trainings in Sanskrit, Vedic chanting, meditation, contemplation and ritualistic workshops.
He was initiated by the most revered Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj and initiated into monastic vows by the most revered Swami Atmasthanandaji Maharaj.
A motivational speaker that he is, through his inspiring and dynamic approach, has effectively counselled and revived many young students and adolescents from stress and depression. He was in-charge of Balaka Sangha and Taruna Sangha (Cultural centres for boys and adolescents).
After completing his B.A, Swamiji pursued his academics in M.A. Philosophy. He excelled in academics and graduated at the top by securing a gold medal awarded by the University of Bangalore, India.
Further, he pursued his Ph.D degree and was awarded doctorate by the University of Mysuru, for his thesis: "Swami Vivekananda's Concept of Man - An Analytical Study."
He has also authored many philosophical books including "Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa", "Educational Philosophy of Gandhiji", "Swami Tyagishananda", "Sasiveyalli Sagara 1 & 2", "Pavahari Baba" and "Dr. S. Radhakrishnanravaru Kanda Bharata" to name a few.
He has contributed more than 50 research articles to reputed journals and has served as a columnist for popular newspapers such as: Vijayavani, Prajavani, Hosa Digantha and Vijaya Karnataka.
An accomplished orator that he is, the Swami has travelled the lengths and breadths of India and addressed youths, spiritual aspirants and educators and also counselled, revived and transformed the lives of many.
Swami Purnananda
Revered Swami Purnananda is the Spiritual Director of the Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre in Dublin, Ireland. He was initiated into spiritual life by the most revered Swami Vireswaranandaji Maharaj, a direct disciple of the Holy Mother.
For many years, he underwent spiritual discipline and studies under the direction and tutelage of revered Swami Nihsreyasanandaji Maharaj, (a direct disciple of revered Swami Shivanandaji Maharaj) whom he served as his Personal Attendant and Secretary and from whom he took his monastic vows in 1981.
In 1992, Swami Purnananda was elected President of the United Cultural Institute in Zimbabwe, where among other things he established an educational bursary fund for deprived girl students, a feeding programme for the poor and he also continued the work of spreading the message of Vedanta in Southern Africa.
In 2006, he was invited to Ireland where he has been preaching the converging truth of Vedanta since as Spiritual Director of the Vedanta Society which he founded. Well versed in Vedanta, Psychology, Yoga, Comparative Theology and Science, the Swami conducts workshops on Personality Development, Spirituality, Meditation, Yoga, etc. as well as guiding and counselling many aspirants.
Swami Purnananda has contributed significantly to the Interfaith movement in Ireland. He dedicates his life to assisting and guiding others physically, psychologically and spiritually. He has expertise in psychology and counselling, and he has assisted individuals and groups in many aspects of their lives including enhanced health through applied naturopathic principles.
Additionally, the Swami has contributed towards important international scientific research in the use of micro-organisms in mineral processing.
An engaging speaker and author of many articles, the Swami also excels in penning poetry. He is also accomplished in freehand painting.
His spiritual discourses are filled with wit and wisdom, making them very popular amongst his followers.
