Blazing fires of reddish hew

Streaking through the grey of sky

Seen by creatures since the dawn

Makes us ponder why we’re born?

Darkest clouds and blackest mood

Some suffering for a lack of food

We, hopeless in our helplessness

While others cry out for the dead

Relief will come as it always does

Like sun rays as they filter through

Replacing and displacing night

With artist’s subtle warmth and light

O Lord thank you for the gift of pain and suffering that contrasts with moments of brightness and joy; without these, how can I truly be inspired to look to Thee and feel Thy artistry? Grant me the gift of endurance and that knowledge that dispels darkness.
