Close your eyes what is heard?

Perhaps the chirping of a bird?

Maybe water’s gurgling gush?

Gentle wind’s sweeping brush?

One thing more, quiet, serene

Contrasted silence in between

Silence strikes a gong of peace

In still moments seconds cease

Empty space devoid of noise

And sitting still in perfect poise

Listen – listen - hear voice inside

Of truth and love now verified

O Lord let me not be tempted by incessant noise that calls the senses away from Thee. Rather let me feel thee in all sensations and in the silence that is Thy voice whispering loving secrets to me.
